Person of interest in killing of Detroit synagogue leader is in police custody

A person of interest in the murder of Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll is in police custody. The person’s identity has not been publicly disclosed, nor has the reason they are under investigation. Woll’s body was found outside her home on October 21, though police state there’s no specific information suggesting her death was an anti-Semitic hate crime. Previously, on November 8, a male suspect was arrested in Kalamazoo, Michigan, but was released without charges three days later. Woll was not just president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, but also a Democratic Party influencer who worked for U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan.
