Pennsylvania man accused of killing wife in argument over cat’s vet care

Barton Seltmann, an 84-year-old Pennsylvania man, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, Margaret Seltmann, during an argument about money for their cat’s veterinary care. Police arrived at the scene to find Barton with blood on his hands and face, and Margaret dead on the kitchen floor. Barton reportedly claimed that his wife threatened him with a knife during the argument, and he responded by pushing her back with a chair, causing her to hit her head. He also admitted to punching her repeatedly and hitting her with a candle holder. According to forensic pathologists from the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, Margaret’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, and it was ruled a homicide.
