Official cause of death revealed for missing Carpentersville teen – NBC Chicago

Authorities have confirmed the cause of death for Brissa Romero, a missing teenager from Carpentersville, Illinois, whose body was found in a Vernon Hills pond. The Lake County Coroner’s Office revealed that Romero drowned, with ethanol intoxication being a contributing factor. Romero went missing on December 4 on her way to a work holiday party, and her vehicle was later found in the same pond. Toxicology reports indicated that Romero had THC in her system and a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.160 at the time of her death. Initial investigations suggest that the car was accidentally driven into the pond.
