NJ mayor says buses of migrants bound for NY are being dropped off at NJ train stations
Migrants bound for New York City are being dropped off at train stations in New Jersey, in an apparent attempt to evade a New York executive order regulating migrant drop-off times. Secaucus Mayor Michael Gonnelli says four buses believed to have transported migrants arrived at Secaucus Junction over the weekend. The executive order, issued by New York Mayor Eric Adams, requires bus operators to provide at least 32 hours’ notice of arrivals and to limit drop-off times. According to Gonnelli, bus operators are exploiting a “loophole” by dropping migrants at train stations, allowing them to continue their journey to New York. The operation, which the Mayor has vowed to monitor closely, appears to be happening at train stations throughout New Jersey.
