New year, new pet peeves about driving in Houston – Houston Public Media

Houston Matters, a local media outlet, conducts a monthly forum known as “Houstonian pet peeves”, where residents can share their minor grievances about life in the city. For the first round of 2024, common peeves include traffic issues, people using speakerphone in public, and the misuse of intersections on divided boulevards. Non-traffic related annoyances include misinterpretation of the term “the modern era” by political reporters, and excessive use of the term “physicality” by sportscasters, especially on Super Bowl Sunday. The forum includes responses from host Craig Cohen, Houston Chronicle’s Lisa Gray, and the Scurfield Group’s Craig Hlavaty.
