National Weather Service confirms two EF1 tornadoes in Alabama
The National Weather Service in Birmingham confirmed two EF1 tornadoes in Jefferson County, Alabama. The weather event caused significant damage across the area, including wind damage, power pole damage, and the largest 24-hour rain total in over 100 days. The preliminary tracks indicate that the tornadoes passed near Wildwood, Homewood, Lake Shore Drive, and Samford University’s campus. More updates from the National Weather Service are expected. There are also plans for additional surveys in Lee and Barbour counties.
