Nashville tornado: Severe storms tear through central Tennessee
Severe storms, including an apparent tornado, struck central Tennessee, resulting in six deaths and approximately two dozen hospitalizations. Three of the fatalities occurred in Montgomery County, north of Nashville, including a child. The Nashville Emergency Operation Center reported the other three deaths in a neighborhood just north of downtown. The storms caused extensive damage to homes and businesses, with images showing damaged houses, debris, and a tractor-trailer flipped on its side. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a tornado touchdown around 2 p.m., and over 80,000 electricity customers were left without power.
