More Trump defendants call for Willis removal in Ga. election case

David Shafer and Cathy Latham, two of the 15 Trump defendants, are formally seeking to disqualify District Attorney Willis and the DA’s office from their case. They argue that Willis financially benefited from an alleged romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, who has billed the county over $728,000 in legal fees. Shafer also cited Willis’s public remarks accusing critics of racism as grounds for her removal. Additionally, Shafer is requesting a change of venue for the case to a more politically balanced county and seeks to challenge the principle that the Republicans who cast “false Electoral College votes” for Donald Trump were breaking the law. The Superior Court Judge has set a hearing for these matters on February 15th.
