Montco man claims he killed wife after she threatened to kill him during argument over cat, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

An 84-year-old man from Montgomery County, Barton Seltmann, has been charged with the murder of his 85-year-old wife, Margaret Seltmann. According to investigations, the murder took place after an argument over money for their pet cat’s veterinary care escalated, with Barton claiming his wife threatened him with a knife. After allegedly pushing her with a chair, causing her to fall and hit her head, Barton punched her repeatedly and struck her with a candleholder, leading to her death. Seltmann was arrested and charged with first-degree and third-degree murder, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for December 5th. The victim was found at their home in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Pennsylvania.
