Michigan woman who went missing while hiking in Calaveras Co. found dead
The body of Ann Marie Herford, a Michigan woman who went missing while hiking in Calaveras County earlier this month, was found dead by sheriff’s office deputies. Herford had last been seen on November 12th, and her parked vehicle was found at the trailhead near the Arnold Rim Trail in the Lakemont subdivision. Her body was discovered on a 35-degree sloped hillside beneath a heavy tree canopy and dense foliage, and was extricated by a California Highway Patrol aircraft. While detectives are continuing the investigation into Herford’s disappearance, her death is not currently believed to be suspicious.
