Miami police launch crackdown on supercar street takeover as they flood street and shut down huge ‘wheels up, guns down’ event that saw 61 arrested in their pimped-up rides

Over 60 people were arrested and 363 citations issued during a street takeover event on Martin Luther King weekend near Miami International Airport in Florida. The event saw supercar owners allegedly attempting to race down the road, with police footage showing a long procession of sports cars. Alongside the arrests and citations, officers also discovered that several of the vehicles involved were stolen. Despite the event aiming to promote peace, police warned that in previous years, dangerous stunts had been performed on roads and highways, which wouldn’t be tolerated. This year’s response was significantly more pronounced, with increased patrol promised throughout the holiday weekend.
