Matthew Perry was found dead from an apparent drowning shortly after being in his hot tub. Law enforcement sources report Perry’s body wasn’t waterlogged when found at his Pacific Palisades home.

Alone at the time of his death, Perry had returned home after playing pickleball at Riviera Country Club. His assistant discovered him unresponsive in the jacuzzi after running an errand for Perry.

A search of Perry’s home found no illegal drugs, but did reveal prescription anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs, and a COPD drug. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease drugs are typically used for emphysema or chronic bronchitis.

Perry, a smoker during his life, also had Nicorette patches and gum in his home, indicating he was trying to quit. The L.A. County Coroner has yet to determine an official cause of death, with toxicology results expected in about 6 weeks.
