Roxanne Doucette Faces Attempted Murder Charge Over Tainted Soup

A Massachusetts woman, Roxanne Doucette from Townsend, is charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to poison her husband. Insiders claim she was manipulated by a scammer posing as soap opera star Thorsten Kaye. Denying these accusations, Doucette says, “I did not try to poison my husband.”

On Dec. 3, Nicole Heath contacted police fearing her mother, Doucette, might have poisoned her hospitalized father, Paul Doucette. At Nashoba Valley Medical Center, she found suspicious messages on her mother’s phone.

Doucette had been conversing with someone she presumed was “The Bold and the Beautiful” actor, who had convinced her to send money. While collecting evidence of this scam, Heath discovered a string of eerie messages.

Police documents reveal a Dec. 1 message from “Thorsten” asking Doucette to get rid of her husband. Doucette later mentions making a “special potion” soup for her husband. By 4:26 PM, she texts about her husband feeling ill and potentially collecting life insurance.

Emergency services were summoned to their residence around 5:11 PM when Paul turned unresponsive. Once he regained consciousness, he mentioned the soup tasted bitter, fueling Heath’s suspicions.

Doucette denied the poisoning allegations, admitting to being scammed out of $8,000 and texting someone posing as the soap star. When police tried seizing her phone and iPad for evidence, she resisted and assaulted an officer, leading to further charges.

Later, Doucette was arrested for breaching a protective order by writing to her husband. Nashoba Valley Medical Center’s toxicology report on Paul tested negative for opioids, cocaine, and alcohol.

Doucette insists she would “never try to poison anybody,” speculating her husband might have had a transient ischemic attack. Having worked in daycare and nursing, she claims she’s incapable of causing harm.

She’s ceased communication with the scammer and surrendered her phone and tablet. Despite the scammer’s persuasions, Doucette maintains she never considered leaving her husband. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 11.
