Mark Cuban to sell majority stake in Dallas Mavericks

Mark Cuban, the majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks since 1999, is reportedly selling a majority stake in the NBA franchise to Las Vegas casino magnate Miriam Adelson and her family. Despite this, Cuban will continue to exercise operational control of the team. The deal, which is reported to be worth around $3.5 billion, is yet to be processed by the league. Miriam Adelson and her family, worth an estimated $35 billion, recently sold $2 billion worth of Las Vegas Sands Corp. with the intention of purchasing an NBA team. Last year, Cuban expressed his interest in partnering with the Las Vegas Sands for the Mavericks’ future, including the idea of placing the Mavericks’ next home arena in a resort and casino.
