Mardis Gras! Galveston opening weekend kicks of with concerts, parades, and bountiful beads
Mardi Gras! Galveston, one of the oldest continuous celebrations in the United States, is set to provide a series of parades, concerts, and activities from February 2 to February 4. Standout events include numerous parades such as the Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade and the Mystic Krewe of Aquarius, as well as performances from country star Hayden Baker and 1990s alt-rock act, the Gin Blossoms. Other activities include the Jolly Jester Jaunt, a Mardi Gras-themed 5k marathon, and the Zaniest Golf Cart Parade. A celebration of Latin America, including the Univision Houston Parade and a performance by norteño band Duelo, will take place on the final day.
