Manchin Stirs Chatter of 2024 Third-Party Bid in New Hampshire
Senator Joe Manchin III visited New Hampshire and complimented its voters while criticizing President Biden’s decision to undercut the state’s power in the Democratic contest. Speculation has arisen that he may run for president, possibly as a third-party candidate supported by the centrist group, No Labels. Manchin has started an organization, Americans Together, to champion moderate voices but stated it is different from No Labels. He has declined to publicly support President Biden or former President Trump for the upcoming election, instead emphasizing the importance of common-sense politics and not ruling out more options in the election. Despite the speculation, Manchin has repeatedly stated that he is not actively campaigning.
