Man Killed Son in 1989, Then Staged Tearful TV Discovery, Officials Say

The cold case of the killing of 5-year-old Justin Lee Turner in South Carolina in 1989 has been solved according to authorities, with the child’s father and stepmother charged with his murder. The boy’s parents, Victor Lee Turner, 69, and Megan R. Turner, 63, were arrested in their home in Cross Hill, Laurens County. The case was reopened in 2021 where inconsistencies were found in the Turner family’s account of Justin’s disappearance. Justin had been murdered and left in a camper behind his parent’s house, with ligature marks on his neck suggesting he had been strangled.
