Man accused of killing girlfriend in Massachusetts escapes from police custody in Kenya
Kevin Adam Kinyanjui Kangethe, a man accused of murdering his girlfriend and leaving her body in a car at a Boston airport, has escaped from police custody in Kenya, initiating a manhunt. Kangethe is wanted in Massachusetts on a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of Margaret Mbitu in October 2023. Four police officers who were on duty at the station are currently in custody and have given statements about the escape incident. Kangethe had been arrested in a nightclub on January 30, 2024, after being on the run for three months, and his extradition to the US was being deliberated.
