Macy’s Philadelphia stabbing: Tyrone Tunnell accused of killing 1 security guard, wounding another in Center City store

A fatal stabbing incident took place at a Macy’s department store in Center City, Philadelphia, leaving one security guard dead and another wounded. The suspect, Tyrone Tunnell, reportedly attempted to shoplift hats and was confronted by security. He left the store after being stopped but returned approximately 15 minutes later and stabbed the security guards. Tunnell, who has a history of retail theft and robbery, was apprehended on SEPTA property. The victims were Macy’s employees; the dead guard, a 30-year-old, succumbed to a stab wound to the neck, while the other, a 23-year-old, is hospitalized in stable condition.
