Lisa Dykes guilty of murder, sentenced to life in prison

A Dallas jury found Lisa Dykes guilty of murdering 23-year-old Marisela Botello and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors claimed Dykes killed Botello in a “jealous rage” after seeing her in bed with her rapper boyfriend, Charles Beltran, with whom Dykes was in a three-way relationship along with her wife, Nina Marano. Dykes was sentenced to life in prison and a $10,000 fine for the murder charge, and 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for the tampering charge. Beltran and Marano had their murder charges dropped, but still face charges of tampering with evidence. The verdict arrived after 90 minutes of deliberation, which was reportedly the fastest verdict in any of the lead prosecutor’s felony cases.
