Lake-effect snow weather event to dump 1-2 feet near Great Lakes

The first significant lake-effect snow event of the year is forecasted to hit near the Great Lakes, with some areas expected to see 1-2 feet of snowfall according to the National Weather Service. This could lead to difficult travel conditions due to rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. The peak intensity of the snowfall is expected from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Areas to be most affected include parts of northern Michigan, northwestern Pennsylvania, and northern New York. In addition, snow squalls away from the Great Lakes are possible, which can be especially dangerous on high-speed, busy highways.
