La Jolla Town Council discusses priorities for 2024

The La Jolla Town Council recently held a meeting to discuss legislative priorities for 2024 and addressed topics such as crime, homelessness, and local government. The meeting also included a discussion on the desirable qualities of a new police chief to replace the retiring Chief David Nisleit. The panel included Council District 1 officials and their representatives, who each discussed their office’s legislative priorities for the year. Public safety, homelessness, infrastructure, e-bike safety, and housing were among the top priorities. La Jolla residents shared their “wish list” for a new police chief, including qualities like humility, transparency, collaboration, and strong communication skills.
