Killer’s family allegedly knew Gabby Petito was dead weeks before discovery | Gabby Petito

The parents of Gabby Petito, the victim of a high-profile domestic violence murder, have accused the family of her killer, Brian Laundrie, and their attorney, of intentionally withholding information about her death, causing them emotional distress. In an amended lawsuit, they allege that Laundrie called his parents weeks before Gabby was found dead telling them she was “gone” and that he “needed a lawyer”. Yet Laundrie’s family later expressed hope that search efforts for Gabby would be successful. The Petito family has also accused police in Moab, Utah, of a wrongful death due to their failure to intervene in a domestic violence situation. These lawsuits follow a previous $3m settlement over a wrongful death lawsuit in Florida.
