Judge denies Texas request to bar Customs and Border Protection from cutting razor wire at border
A federal judge has denied Texas’ request to prevent U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents from removing razor-wire the state placed along the U.S.-Mexico border. Judge Alia Moses ruled that Texas had not provided enough evidence to prove that the federal government broke the law by removing the wire. Texas is suing the Biden administration over what it describes as the damaging of its concertina wire intended to secure the border and curtail illegal migration. Judge Moses criticized U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the federal government’s execution of immigration policies but left the door open for Texas to prove its case in the future. The judge also addressed the issue of border patrol agents having to cut the fencing in emergency situations.
