Japan issues tsunami warnings after a series of very strong earthquakes on the Sea of Japan coast

Japan issued tsunami warnings and evacuation orders following a series of powerful earthquakes off its western coastline, with one reported to have a preliminary magnitude of 7.6. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued a major tsunami warning for Ishikawa and other advisories for the rest of Honshu’s western coast, with potential wave heights reaching up to 5 meters. A special emergency center has been established to relay information about the quakes and tsunami to residents. Tsunami warnings have also been issued for parts of North Korea, Russia, and South Korea. No irregularities have been reported at the nuclear plants in the affected area.
