Iowa man arrested in the stabbing death of a Nebraska priest

A man named Kierre L. Williams has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of Catholic priest Rev. Stephen Gutgsell in Omaha, Nebraska. The incident occurred at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church during an attempted break-in and Gutgsell was taken to an Omaha hospital where he later died from his injuries. It is not clear if Williams, from Sioux City, Iowa, has legal representation. In 2007, Gutgsell had a criminal record for embezzling $127,000 from an area church. Despite this history, authorities do not believe Gutgsell’s death was related to his past criminal activities.
