Inmate charged with stabbing George Floyd killer Derek Chauvin 22 times | Crime News

An inmate in a US prison, John Turscak, has been charged with attempted murder following the stabbing of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer convicted for the murder of George Floyd. Turscak, a former gang member serving a 30-year sentence, reportedly told FBI agents that he attacked Chauvin to invoke the Black Lives Matter movement. He allegedly planned the attack due to Chauvin’s high-profile prisoner status. Additional charges include assault with intent to commit murder, assault resulting in serious bodily injury, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Chauvin, sentenced for second-degree murder and violation of Floyd’s civil rights, is said to survive the attack.
