India, tiger found wandering Houston in 2021, dies at Texas ranch
India, the tiger who made national headlines in 2021 for wandering around a Houston neighborhood, has died, according to the Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch where he was living. The tiger had not been acting like himself, and despite efforts from a veterinarian and staff members to monitor him and encourage him to take medication, his health declined. Preliminary findings suggest that India might have had cancer and his system went septic, but final lab results are pending. India had been living at the ranch in Murchison, Texas since May 2021 following a manhunt after he was spotted roaming a Houston neighborhood. The creature was handed over to the police in good health and had been adjusting well to his new home.
