In Tennessee, Deadly Tornadoes Leave a Swath of Destruction

A series of severe storms and tornadoes swept through Middle Tennessee, killing at least six people and injuring over 60. The storms, which were part of a broader stretch of severe weather across the South, caused significant damage in Clarksville and areas around Nashville. Tennessee Governor, Bill Lee, declared a state of emergency and initiated a process for federal disaster aid. Over 52,000 customers were without power in Tennessee following the storms, and power may not be fully restored for several weeks. The severe weather also caused damage in Kentucky and Alabama.
