If Eric Adams resigned, Andrew Cuomo would lead pack of potential successors, poll says

In a hypothetical election, Andrew Cuomo leads with 22 percent of the vote, followed by Jumaane Williams with 15 percent and Kathryn Garcia with 12 percent, according to a Slingshot poll. The poll also found that 35 percent of voters were undecided. Andrew Cuomo has a 46-42 approval rating and leads Williams by six points in a theoretical ranked-choice ballot. However, Mayor Eric Adams’ approval rating was found to be at a record low, with 37 percent approval and 56 percent disapproval. Despite the low ratings, a majority of black voters support Adams and believe he should not resign if indicted.
