Samuel Randazzo, the former chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, has pleaded not guilty to numerous charges relating to bribery and embezzlement after allegedly receiving over $4.3 million from FirstEnergy. The charges include conspiracy to commit travel act bribery and honest services wire fraud, travel act bribery, honest services wire fraud, wire fraud, and making illegal monetary transactions. Randazzo is implicated in the largest corruption scandal in Ohio history, which also led to the conviction and 20-year prison sentence of former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder. Randazzo is accused of receiving bribes through his consulting business, Sustainability Funding Alliance of Ohio. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
