Hunter Biden, Facing Contempt Referral, Says House Subpoenas Are Invalid

Hunter Biden, son of President Biden, has argued that subpoenas issued to him by House Republicans are invalid. His lawyer, Abbe Lowell, stated that the subpoenas were authorized before the House had voted to open an impeachment investigation into President Biden, making them legally invalid. This rebuttal is an attempt to counter the contempt of Congress case that Republicans are pursuing against Hunter Biden. Despite this, the Judiciary and Oversight Committees, who issued the subpoenas, have voted to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress. The full House is expected to vote on the matter next week.
