Several Chinese electric vehicles, including the Avatr 12 from Changan, the Chery Luxeed S7 sedan, and the Seres Aito M9 SUV, are experiencing delivery delays due to production issues with a Huawei-sourced computing unit known as MDC 810. This unit powers the vehicles’ advanced driver assistance systems; its production has been hampered by a shortage of one of its components. As a consolation, Luxeed has promised to reimburse buyers up to 10,000 yuan ($1,400) if they are unable to pick up their cars on the promised date.
