Houston, Texas news: Family hopes sketch identifies missing man

In Houston, Texas, a family is hopeful that remains found in 2023 might belong to their missing relative, Alexander “A.J.” Silva. Silva went missing in 2021 when he was 19, while wearing a pretrial ankle monitor which later went dark. In August 2023, skeletal remains were found in an abandoned building, and a digitized rendering of the remains released by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children appears to resemble Silva. The family has launched a Facebook page to up the search efforts and shared his dental records to aid the investigation. The case remains open and active with the Houston Police Department.
