Houston, Texas news: Connie the container dog is pregnant
A golden retriever named Connie, who was found trapped in a shipping container at Port Houston by U.S. Coast Guard inspectors, is pregnant. The dog was discovered without food or water and had likely been in the container for at least eight days. Connie was transferred to the Pasadena Animal Shelter, and subsequently rehomed via an animal rescue group in the Washington, D.C. area. The Coast Guard team responsible for her rescue is being honored with a Compassionate Action Award by PETA. It is suspected that Connie may have been in a vehicle in the shipping container, which was filled with cars from a junkyard.
