House votes to expel indicted Rep. George Santos from Congress

The U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly (311-114) to expel indicted Rep. George Santos, following revelations of resume fabrication and a 23-count federal indictment involving crimes such as wire fraud and money laundering. The expulsion came after a damning House Ethics Committee report detailing allegations of Santos deceiving donors, filing false campaign statements and misusing campaign money. Santos is now the sixth person in U.S. history to be expelled from the House of Representatives, and the first to be expelled prior to a federal conviction.
