Hotel employee dumps chemicals in pool with children: Lawsuit

Three families are suing the Grand Plaza Hotel in Branson, Missouri, alleging that an employee added ProGuard Calcium Hypochlorite Granular to the pool while children were swimming, causing instant physical discomfort including burning eyes, skin irritation, chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing, and bloody noses. The incident, which occurred on May 8, 2021, resulted in one child sustaining permanent damage to her lungs and throat, and led to 12 children needing medical treatment. The lawsuit states that the employee ignored warnings on the chemical container and failed to notify the guests of the ongoing chemical treatment. The plaintiffs are seeking more than $25,000 in damages each.
