“He is a box office cricketer”

Former England cricket captain Nasser Hussain has expressed optimism that Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will make a strong comeback in 2024 after recovering from a car accident. Pant, who was severely injured in the accident in December 2022, is said to be making good progress in his rehabilitation and could potentially return to cricket ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. In Pant’s absence, KL Rahul has been performing well as India’s keeper-batter during the ODI World Cup, earning praise from Hussain who described India as lucky to have both players. Pant’s availability for IPL 2024 remains unclear.
