Harvard president says ‘I don’t know how you could feel anything but regret’ after antisemitism testimony

Claudine Gay, a university president, has apologized in an interview with Harvard’s student newspaper for her remarks that caused distress and pain. The House Education Committee has announced that it will investigate Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Pennsylvania, following the “pathetic and morally bankrupt” testimony of university presidents, according to Rep. Elise Stefanik. Many university presidents, including Gay, have faced severe criticism for their response to antisemitism following Hamas’ attack on Israel in October.
