Harvard President Claudine Gay will not step down over antisemitism testimony : NPR

Harvard University’s governing board has affirmed that President Claudine Gay will stay in the position, disregarding calls for her removal after controversial testimony on antisemitism at a congressional hearing. Opponents pointed to Gay’s response to a question about whether “calling for the genocide of Jews” violated Harvard’s rules on harassment; she had replied that it could “depending on the context”. Gay has since apologised for her remarks, yet some faculty, students, alumni, and over 70 congress members have called for her departure. However, Gay has also received widespread support from many faculty members and students.
