Harris Warns of ‘Profound Threat’ to America’s Freedoms

Vice President Kamala Harris, while honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in South Carolina, raised concerns about the curbs on American civil rights by the Supreme Court and Republican lawmakers. She referenced the rollbacks on voting rights, reproductive rights, and the denial of parts of Black history. Furthermore, Harris warned about the loss of freedom from fear, violence, harm, and the freedom to vote, live and learn. The Vice President emphasized that the current generation has fewer rights than their predecessors. She urged South Carolinians, who played an integral role in the 2020 election, to help secure historic voter turnout in the upcoming Democratic primary.
