Harris says the US will ‘under no circumstances’ permit the forced relocation of Palestinians

Vice President Kamala Harris has stated that the US will not allow the forced relocation of Palestinians or any redrawing of the Gaza Strip’s current borders. These remarks were made during a meeting with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. While supporting Israel’s “legitimate military objectives” in Gaza, Harris highlighted the high civilian suffering and death toll. This comes amid concerns that Israel could use the conflict to seize parts of Gaza or expel its Palestinian residents. The meeting also included discussions on post-conflict planning for Gaza, emphasizing the need for reconstruction, security, and governance efforts to be pursued in the context of clear political horizons for the Palestinians.
