Harris caps off SC charge ahead of Dems’ first-in-the-nation primary

The Biden campaign is focusing on South Carolina’s primary as a means of showing support for Black voters, given they form the core of the party’s base. Despite investment of over $400,000 in advertisement and an expected victory against Rep. Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson, the campaign still needs to address concerns about Biden’s standing with Black voters. The administration’s policy accomplishments such as canceling student loan debt and lowering insulin costs have been highlighted, but there are concerns about communication to voters about these achievements. The campaign is also managing potential discontent from younger Black voters who are less likely to participate in primaries.
