‘Groundhog Day’ cast to reunite on Friday at Chicago’s Navy Pier – NBC Chicago
The first-ever “Groundhog Day movie cast reunion” is set to take place at Chicago’s Navy Pier on Groundhog Day. The event is not just a reunion, but also a tribute to Chicago-born Harold Ramis, co-writer and director of the cult favorite movie “Groundhog Day”. The event will feature participation from at least seven cast members of the original movie, and there’s a chance Bill Murray may make an appearance. The gathering will offer a “truly immersive Groundhog Day experience”, with food and drink reminiscent of the film, ice sculptures, shooting scripts, and memorabilia on display. Finally, the event will culminate with a Groundhog Day Ceremony featuring a live groundhog named “Chicago Harry” who will predict the duration of winter in the area.
