Gov. Josh Shapiro condemns protest outside Jewish-owned Goldie restaurant – NBC10 Philadelphia

A pro-Palestinian protest outside of a Jewish-owned restaurant in Philadelphia has been condemned by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro as a “blatant act of antisemitism.” The protest was part of the “Flood Philly for Gaza Protest,” organized in response to the Israel-Hamas war, with protesters demanding a complete end to the siege on Gaza and US complicity with Israel. During the protest, attendees gathered outside of Goldie, a restaurant owned by Michael Solomonov, who also owns Zahav, another restaurant serving traditional Israeli cuisine. Pro-Palestinian groups have previously called for boycotts of Solomonov’s businesses, which have donated to Israeli humanitarian relief efforts amid the war. The protest was also condemned by US Senator John Fetterman and the White House.
