Goose found in flight control of deadly medical helicopter crash in Oklahoma
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) found a dead goose in the flight control system of a medical helicopter that crashed in western Oklahoma, killing all three people on board. Other geese were found in the debris field, but the NTSB has not yet identified a suspected cause for the accident. It could take up to two years to produce a probable cause report. The crash occurred on January 20 near Hydro, while the helicopter was returning to Weatherford after taking a patient to an Oklahoma City hospital. The pilot, a flight nurse, and a paramedic were killed.
