Gilgo Beach serial killings suspect Rex Heuermann charged in the death of a 4th woman
Rex Heuermann has been charged with a fourth murder in the Gilgo Beach serial killings. Heuermann was already charged with the murders of three sex workers, and the latest charge is related to the death of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, whose remains were found near Gilgo Beach. Heuermann pleaded not guilty to the new charges and remains in custody without bail. The evidence linking Heuermann to the murders includes female hair found at the crime scenes, cellphone data, and DNA obtained from a discarded slice of pizza. His next court hearing is scheduled for February 6.
