George Santos Faces House Expulsion Vote After a Year of Mounting Allegations

The House of Representatives is set to vote on the potential expulsion of New York Republican, Rep. George Santos, accused of stealing money from his campaign and other misconduct. This would be only the third expulsion from the chamber since the Civil War. The outcome is uncertain, as a two-thirds House supermajority (290 votes) is needed for expulsion. While most Democrats support expulsion and many Republicans also support the move, some GOP members, including Speaker Mike Johnson, have expressed reservations about expelling Santos before his criminal case is resolved.
