‘General Hospital’ wins 5 trophies, Susan Lucci honored at 50th annual Daytime Emmys

“General Hospital” emerged as a top winner at the Daytime Emmy Awards, receiving five trophies, including four for acting. Among the honorees were the late Sonya Eddy for her role as Epiphany Johnson, Robert Gossett as Marshall Ashford, Eden McCoy as Josslyn Jacks, and Alley Mills for a guest performance. The show also bagged an award for its directing team. Other notable victories included Susan Lucci receiving a Lifetime Achievement Honor for her 40-year stint on “All My Children,” and Kelly Clarkson winning her third consecutive trophy for daytime talk series. The ceremony marked the return of major awards shows following the end of Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strikes.
