Gary investigating multiple shootings – Chicago Tribune
The Gary Police Department is investigating multiple shooting incidents that took place on February 1 and January 31. Three people were shot during a fight on Carolina Street; a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were found at the scene while a third victim, a 24-year-old woman, was located at Northlake Methodist Hospital. All three victims were involved in or witnessing a fight and none were able to identify the shooter. A separate shooting occurred on Delaware Street where a 40-year-old woman was shot entering her home. On January 31, a 30-year-old man was shot in an apartment building hallway on South Vermillion but did not recognize the gunman. The investigations are being led by Sgt. William Fazekas.
